COW is a hub for youth to share ideas and explore new ways of communicating. It’s an online think tank where young minds can have their voices heard, all while being inspired by some of the most dynamic artists of their time. COW gives young people the tools to share their ideas about change-at home, at school, around the world-with a community of their peers. It’s also a place where they can be exposed to the work of other creative people who want to change the world for the better.
We want to show that tough topics can be tackled in positive and creative ways. Our ethos is that there’s no right way to share an idea. A picture may be worth 1000 words, and a few words, worth a 1000 pictures. And a song may be better than all those things combined.
That’s what COW is all about—giving young people a place to experiment, say something real, and say it in the best way they can and have a real impact on stuff around them —stuff that holds us back from making sure everyone feels a part of it all. Big changes happen when enough people start taking small steps. This could be your first step or your 1000th! Let’s take it with you.
COW emerged from COPA's provincial project Safe@School, which was designed to create schools where everyone is treated with respect and understanding, a place where difference is seen as a positive thing, and is honoured and celebrated.
