So glad you came to check out the Student Engagement Project (SEP) section of our site! SEP’s gave students a unique opportunity to help make their school community a more welcoming and inclusive place for all. Check out our showcase to explore original projects led by students.
In the spring of 2011, all students in Grades 7-12 at publicly-funded schools in Ontario were invited to apply for funding to support original projects that would help create meaningful and positive change around the issue of discrimination - racism, sexism or homophobia.
Projects involved at least one community group - inside or outside of the students' school so as to ensure greater likelihood of long-term community change.
Projects could be of any size and required two or more students and an adult member of the school supporting the project. The results are stellar! Take a moment to absorb the artwork that students collaborated on to create positive change in their communities!
